Libby J. Smith, DO is a Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, home of the Fighting Banana Slugs. After receiving her Doctor of Osteopathy from University of Health Sciences, College of Medicine she completed Otolaryngology residency at Grandview/Kettering Hospital in Dayton, OH. From there, Dr. Smith completed a Fellowship in Laryngology, Care of the Professional Voice with Dr. Sataloff in Philadelphia, PA. She then joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Her primary research interests are laryngeal EMG and surgical ergonomics.
